The hillshade was created from a composite of several LiDAR surveys spanning 2003-2016. In March 2016 the United States Geological Survey (USGS), in collaboration with the Washington Department of Natural Resources (WADNR), and Snohomish County to collect Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data for the Western Washington 3DEP QL1 LiDAR project site in the state of Washington. Pixel resolution is 3 feet. Features such as trees and buildings have been removed, leaving a visual impression of a bare earth surface.
